Pray For America and the Election!

Hello once again.  It is hard to believe this will be the last newsletter written in 2008.  I stand amazed at how quickly time is flying by.

Cody turned six years old on September 21.  He has been such a blessing to our family.  We now have five grandchildren.  The last one was a girl, Selah Brooks.  She is the happiest baby.  What a blessing each one has been to us!  We have been so blessed.  We are also grands to our nephew’s two children, Addison and Isaac, so when we have family night, it is a house full of children!!!  But it is wonderful.

I woke up this morning thinking what a great day it would be for the home to receive that one million we’ve prayed for to build the church and pay the home out of debt.  The way the economy is looking this would be a great time for God to show Himself as Psalms says.  Proverbs 8:21 is my promise verse God gave me on February 8, 2005:  “That I may cause them that love me to inherit substance: and I will fill their treasures.”  I still believe God!  Please help us pray.  We so appreciate the one’s who have helped us pray for this great blessing for the ministry here.  It would take such a burden off the church and home, and God would get all the glory!

I love the Lord!  He has done great things these past 17 years.  We are now starting our 18th year with this ministry.  I don’t know when times have been as tough.  We are in the last days for sure!  We were talking recently about  how we feel we’ve been sifted for the past two years on a daily basis.  I decided yesterday morning in my prayer time to study “sifted.”

It appears three times in the Bible—twice in the Old Testament and once in the New Testament.  Luke 22:31-32 says, “And the Lord said Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.  BUT I HAVE PRAYED FOR THEE, THAT THY FAITH FAIL NOT.”   According to the 1828 dictionary, sift means to examine minutely or critically, to scrutinize.  It blessed me so to realize my Saviour is ever living to make intercession for us!  He is so wonderful to be so good to His children.  We have no more strength in ourselves, but God is now our all in all.  He has never failed us!  In the month of September I prayed the Psalms.  I can't
